About The Howley Tavern

Originally dating from 1661, this freehouse & restaurant is situtated in the unspoilt Somerset village of Howley, right in the heart of the Blackdown Hills.

The Howley Tavern is a warm and friendly family run freehouse & restaurant offering traditional real ales, fine wines, great traditional home cooked food and a friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy. Outside we have plenty of car parking and from our gardens and patio you will experience some of the most fantastic views across the Yarty Valley, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.

We also have a large childrens play area overlooked by our Beer Garden, so you can enjoy a quiet drink yet still keep an eye on the kids.
